No list exists yet. GTA Online shows why menu stats lie and lap times matter.
The short version
No GTA 6 Online car list exists yet, because the online mode hasn't been announced, so any fastest car ranking today is invented. In GTA Online, fastest car rankings changed with most big updates and depended on full upgrades.
Quick answer
What is the fastest car in GTA 6 Online?
There isn't one yet, because GTA 6 Online hasn't been announced. In GTA Online, the fastest car rankings changed with most big updates and depended on full upgrades, so expect the same churn in GTA 6 Online once it exists. Any ranking you see today is a guess.
Search for the fastest car in GTA 6 Online and you will find confident top ten lists. None of them can be real. Rockstar hasn't announced GTA 6 Online, and it hasn't published a vehicle list for GTA 6 either.
What GTA Online does offer is a lesson in how to judge speed when the time comes.
What did GTA Online teach about fast cars?
| In GTA Online | What it means for GTA 6 Online |
|---|---|
| New fastest cars arrived with updates | Rankings will keep moving |
| Menu stats didn't always match real speed | Lap and top speed tests matter |
| Upgrades changed the order | Compare fully upgraded cars only |
| Weekly discounts changed what was worth buying | Watch the weekly event first |
That last row matters for your bank balance. Rockstar's weekly events on its Newswire often discount vehicles, as our weekly updates guide explains.
Are there confirmed GTA 6 cars?
Only in general terms. Take Two says the Ultimate Edition Upgrade includes "premium vehicles" across Jason and Lucia's story, in its preorder announcement. The Independent describes exclusive vehicles too. Neither names a model or a top speed.
How will we test GTA 6 Online cars?
When the mode launches, we will publish three numbers for each contender.
- Top speed, fully upgraded.
- Lap time on a fixed circuit.
- Price, where to buy it and whether it needs an edition or a membership.
Until then, the most useful thing to plan is money. See making money in GTA 6 Online, and the base game's Ultimate Edition vehicles on our sister site.
