The short version

There is no way to make money in GTA 6 Online yet, because the mode hasn't been announced. In GTA Online the most reliable earners were heists, owned businesses and activities boosted in weekly bonus events. Rockstar's terms forbid selling or transferring accounts, so modded account sellers risk a ban.

Quick answer

What's the best way to make money in GTA 6 Online?

Nothing is confirmed yet, because GTA 6 Online hasn't been announced. In GTA Online the most reliable earners were heists, owned businesses that generate income, and activities boosted in weekly bonus events. Avoid modded account sellers, since Rockstar's terms forbid selling or transferring accounts.

GTA Online made millionaires out of players who ran heists on repeat and bought the right businesses. It also wiped out players who took a shortcut. GTA 6 Online doesn't exist yet, so there is no money to make, but GTA Online's 13 years show what to plan for.

Rockstar still adds big earners. The Kortz Center Heist, a raid on Los Santos' main cultural institution, launched on 14 July 2026, per Take Two's quarterly results. Our heists guide traces the full history.

How do weekly bonuses change earnings?

They decide what pays best each week. Rockstar posts a weekly event on its Newswire, usually with double or triple rewards on chosen activities. Players who follow the boosted activity earn far more for the same time. See weekly updates.

Why should you avoid modded accounts?

Because the account was never the seller's to sell. Rockstar's terms of service say you agree not to sell, transfer or share your account, and that Rockstar can terminate accounts that break the agreement.

Rockstar also bans for cheating. Its BattlEye FAQ says detection of cheat software can lead to suspensions or bans from Rockstar titles and services. Money glitch downloads carry the same risk, and some are malware.

Will GTA$ from GTA Online carry over?

Not announced. Rockstar has only moved GTA$ between console generations of GTA 5, as our transfer guide explains. Plan to start GTA 6 Online from zero.

When the mode launches we will rebuild this page with tested earnings per hour. Until then, the safest money plan is the boring one Rockstar rewards.
