If the report is right, PC friends join in early 2027. Whether they can join your lobby is a different question.
The short version
GamesBeat reports that GTA 6 reaches PC in the first quarter of 2027, citing four anonymous sources. Rockstar has not confirmed it. For GTA Online crews that mix PC and console players, that would mean a gap of a few months, and Rockstar has announced no crossplay between any platforms.
Quick answer
Will GTA 6 Online be on PC?
No PC version is announced. GamesBeat reports that GTA 6 reaches PC in the first quarter of 2027, citing four anonymous sources, and Rockstar has not confirmed it. Crossplay between PC and consoles has not been announced either, so mixed crews should expect to play apart at first.
Mixed crews have the most to lose from a PC delay. One friend on PS5, one on Xbox, one on PC is a normal GTA Online group, and on 19 November only two of them can buy GTA 6.
A GamesBeat report published on 13 October says Rockstar plans the PC version for the first three months of 2027. It cites four industry sources who asked not to be named, and the studio did not respond. Our sister site has the full PC report with the sourcing and the doubts.
How long would PC players wait for GTA 6 Online?
At least two months, and maybe much longer. If GamesBeat is right, the base game reaches PC between January and March 2027. No platform has a GTA 6 Online date yet, as our Online release date guide explains.
One account we track, RevuoGG, posted that its own source expects Online in the first half of 2027 and PC later in 2027. That is a single unverified claim, and it contradicts GamesBeat.
Can PC and console players play GTA 6 Online together?
Nothing says they can. Rockstar has announced no crossplay for GTA 6. The current GTA Online keeps PC, PlayStation and Xbox players in separate lobbies, which our crossplay guide covers.
| Question | Status |
|---|---|
| GTA 6 on PC | Reported for Q1 2027, unconfirmed |
| GTA 6 Online date | Not announced |
| Crossplay between platforms | Not announced |
| Console launch | 19 November 2026, confirmed |
What should a mixed crew do now?
Pick a lead platform for launch week. Story mode comes first anyway, and nobody has said whether Online is there at launch.
PC players lose little by waiting for a date. Console players can play the story and keep a slot free for the crew. If crossplay is announced, the plan changes, and we will update this guide the day it does.
